How To Register A Domain Name With Namecheap - Part II

    Web Hosting

This is Part II in “How To Register A domain Name With Namecheap”

The 1st thing you need to do after you have successfully registered for a Namecheap account is to add funds to your account.

This will make it easier when you decide to register a domain name as Namecheap requires you to add funds to your account 1st before you can proceed to register a domain name unlike other domain name providers which enables you to pay upon checkout.

Step 1- Login to your account (See Below)

Step 2 - Once logged in proceed to add funds to your account.

Step 3 - Choose your payment options. You can choose to pay via Paypal, Google Checkout or Credit/Debit card. I personally use Paypal. Next step is to proceed uploading an amount using whichever method you decide on.

I suggest you upload $10 for each domain you register. The minimum is $7.98. Any balance after domain registration will remain in your account and you can add to that amount for future domains. Of course you can add a bigger amount if you want. Think of it like a deposit.

Step 4 - Congrats! You have added funds to your Namecheap account (See Below)

That’s it! Now you have successfully added funds to your Namecheap account. Next is to register that domain name.

[...] Personally, I don’t use Hostgator’s domain service and BANS recommends Godaddy which I use as well. The other domain registrar I use and highly recommend is Namecheap. Reason is it’s easier to navigate than Godaddy especially for those who are new but Godaddy works wonderful as well. I’ve blogged about Namecheap. You can read them Here. [...]
