So often we missed the obvious and it’s actually the way we make the most money.
So here’s the obvious recommendation for the week:-
Use holidays, national events, product launches, television series, finales or whatever. Every single one of these has momentum. Tie your marketing, your product, your service or just your marketing, the story behind your marketing to that event and you’ll get a big boost because you’re leveraging that events’ momentum.
For example, smart marketers did that a few months ago with the Nintendo Wii launch to great success. (By the way, I wanted to get that but I think I’ll opt for a PSP slim instead)
Imagine this, the Nintendo Wii was sold out across America and the UK and I had a contact on MSN who asked if I could ship some Wii Remote Controllers to the UK and they were the hot sellers on eBay as well.
Last Xmas, I’m sure everyone of us received a greeting card from this corporation called OfficeMax asking you to Elf Yourself.
It was funny while it lasts and the viral effect of it which carried from the momentum of the holiday season was obviously powerful.
They got traffic to their website for free till this day and I’m sure they are going to do it again this year. Huge viral success in my opinion.
If you try searching for Elf Yourself, you’d probably see this and get redirected to OfficeMax.
So the question is how can you leverage the holiday season or any other national event with momentum in your online business and marketing?
Hint: - Think Obama, Clinton and McCain…
P.S. - Reviews on PSP Slim anyone???
