In my last post, I told a story about “The Boy at the Bus Stop“. It’s an interesting story and you should read it.
Incidentally, I posted it on the same day as I mailed my list our weekly eZine to showcase last weeks’ postings. Only my newsletter subscribers receive that so if you are my feed reader, perhaps you want to subscribe again.
I got a few emails actually asking questions like, “What happened to that boy now?”, “Is he at your location?”, “Was that boy you?”…
The boy in the story was in fact told by someone I knew (he’s too shy) around 13 years ago and that was a recount of my vivid memory but it was a great story about business to me. I’m sure you’ll agree.
By the way, if you cannot seem to comment on the story, perhaps it could be due to the recent math comment spam plugin I used with this blog theme. I’m gonna have to work that out shortly. (Is this another story?)
So how could a story help you for your online business?
Well, you can use the story to market your product and if it was so captivating, it will be on people’s minds… Think what it would do to your bottomline.
Thus I want to encourage you to use the power of stories for your personal life and your business life. It is in fact one of the most effective methods to engage, teach, and increase participation in your audience plus you gain trust in the process.
A good example is stories written by Tom Reynolds, an emergency medical technician and author of the book “Blood, Sweat and Tea” sold on Amazon; who blogs stories about his job and in fact he sells the book there as well. Here’s an interesting about me page of him telling about himself. Fascinating.
We always judge and critic. Too often it seems. The quirky voice murmuring in our brain always talks about our life, our problems, our employers, our peers, other bloggers, our competition, our friends, our team members, anyone and anything.
So use the power of stories to help sell whatever it is you that you are promoting or selling, be it your own products, your affiliate products, your network marketing business, your services, etc.
It’s such a powerful technique.
So my question is what personal stories or professional stories do you have that could help market your online businesses?
